Privacy Policy

What this site collects, why, and what happens to it.

Last updated: September 2026

Who this covers

This policy applies to www.mcguirklawny.com, operated by The Law Office of Robert F. McGuirk, PLLC, 423 New Karner Road, Suite 6, Albany, New York 12205.

What is collected

If you submit a form on this site, the office receives what you typed: your name, telephone number, email address, county, and whatever you describe about your matter. Nothing on this site requires you to provide information, and you are asked not to send confidential details until we have spoken.

Like most websites, this site also records standard technical information automatically, including your general location, the pages you view, the browser and device you use, and the site or advertisement that referred you.

Advertising and analytics

This office advertises on Google. This site uses Google advertising and measurement tools, which set cookies or similar identifiers to record that a visit or a telephone call followed an advertisement. That measurement tells the office which advertisements produce inquiries. It is not used to build a profile of you, and no information you submit through a form is sold or shared for advertising purposes.

Telephone numbers shown on this site may be replaced with a forwarding number for visitors who arrive from an advertisement, so that the call can be attributed to that advertisement. Calls placed to a forwarding number connect to this office normally.

You can control advertising personalization at myadcenter.google.com, and most browsers let you block or delete cookies.

Mobile information and text messaging

The Law Office of Robert F. McGuirk, PLLC does not share mobile numbers, text messaging originator opt-in data, or consent with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information may be shared only with subcontractors and service providers that support the delivery of SMS services, such as messaging platforms, telecommunications providers, or customer support vendors. This information is used solely to provide and operate the messaging service.

All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with any third parties.

The terms of the messaging program, including how to opt out, are set out in our Terms of Service.

How information is used

Information you send is used to respond to your inquiry, evaluate whether this office can assist you, check for conflicts of interest, and, if you retain this office, to perform the work. It is not sold or rented.

Confidentiality

Submitting a form or sending an email does not create an attorney client relationship and does not make the information you send privileged. An attorney client relationship is formed only by a signed retainer agreement. Once representation begins, client information is protected by the Rules of Professional Conduct and applicable law.

Service providers

This site is hosted by a third party hosting provider, and form submissions are delivered by a third party form service. Email is handled by a third party mail provider. These providers process information only to deliver their service.

Retention

Inquiries that do not become matters are kept for a reasonable period and then deleted. Client files are retained in accordance with the record keeping requirements that apply to New York attorneys.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

You may ask what information this office holds about you, ask that it be corrected, or ask that it be deleted, subject to any obligation to retain records. Write to the address above or email robbie@mcguirklawny.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date.
